Ursa Minor is a crewed sailing yacht specializing in customized, private cruising charters for one couple or a family of up to four. She’s especially great for your wedding, honeymoon, anniversary or just a romantic getaway for two! From November through June or July, her home waters include the U.S. and British Virgin Islands (USVI and BVI), where a typical charter departs from St. Thomas, visits St. John, then circumnavigates Tortala, BVI, stopping at several delightful outlying islands along the way. Most summers she is available for charter in the islands of the Eastern Caribbean from Anguilla to Grenada and the Grenadines.
Ursa Minor is an owner-operated charteryacht. Your hosts and crew, captains Bryan and Judy, are dedicated to providing you with a remarkable sailing vacation experience. As charter sailboats go, Ursa Minor is very new, having been built in Canada by Saga Yachts in 1998. Designed by Robert Perry, one of the world’s leading offshore sailingyacht designers, her combination of solid workmanship and great design ensure that Ursa Minor will provide her guests with a swift, but luxuriously comfortable sailing experience. She’s been kept in tip-top condition, including a major cosmetic re-fit in 2004. Down below she sports new cushions and linens, while topsides the hull and deck have been freshly painted. Her cockpit has a new dodger and bimini with attached shade curtains and rain curtains, making her comfortable in any weather conditions, and enabling guests to enjoy the view while protecting themselves from the sun and rain. Solar panels have been added to boost the power supply.
A typical sail charter on Ursa Minor in the Virgin Islands may be for a term of as few as three nights to ten or more. Summer charters in the Eastern Caribbean are typically, but not necessarily, longer due to the greater distances between islands. Whatever the length of the term charter, Ursa Minor’s crew can customize it to accommodate most guest expectations, taking advantage of the wide array of sailing, water sports, exploration and night life opportunities found in the Virgin Islands and elsewhere in the Caribbean. Your meals will be customized for you, whether your preferences are for exotic gourmet fusions, low-carb South Beach diet, or plain old meat-and-potatoes.
